Day 4: Antigua to Barbuda

So today, we slept in and made pancakes while we waited for Eugene. We waiting for a few hours, and finally we decided to go ahead and snorkel the Wreck of the Andes. As soon as we got all of our snorkel gear together, we got a phone call. Eugene's friend, Dion, was on his way to help us fix the lights. Once Dion got to the boat, we had him fix the lights, along with a few other things that were wrong on the boat.

Once Dion left, we were finally able to go snorkel. Dad, Grant, and I went and snorkeled while Mom and Lindsay stayed with the  boat. The wreck was very cool. The Andes was a merchant ship in the 1700s. It sank when in hit ground and broke a hole in the hull. It was an incredibly cool snorkel- we even saw a blowfish.

After we snorkeled the wreck, we left Antigua to head to Barbuda. It was a three hour sail, but a very rough sail. Everybody felt very sick and queasy. Thank god Dad brought ginger candy to suck on!
After we got to Barbuda, we anchored on the 11 Mile Beach. We were the only boat there, and we were on the opposite side of the lagoon from the town so there weren't even any locals. The view is completely unobstructed because the locals do not want any hotels ruining the view and building on their land.

We just hung out on the beach by ourselves for the rest of the night :)
